ECOASIS, un proyecto clave para consolidar la infraestructura de recarga de vehículos eléctricos

ECOASIS, a key project to consolidate the electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Circutor | 1 de July de 2025

Circutor and the Zoilo Ríos Group, in collaboration with CIRCE, are developing a disruptive solution that integrates renewable energy generation, storage, and green hydrogen to enable ultra-fast electric vehicle charging without the need to connect to traditional grids.

The El Cisne service station in Zaragoza (Spain) is hosting the project presentation, which is already fully operational at this location.

Building a service station with ultra-fast charging for electric vehicles without the need to connect to the power grid is now possible thanks to ECOASIS, the disruptive and innovative solution developed by Circutor and the Zoilo Ríos Group, in collaboration with the CIRCE Technological Centre. This represents a major step forward for electric mobility, even in remote locations.

The El Cisne service station, owned by the Zoilo Ríos Group in Zaragoza (Spain), was the venue for the presentation of this initiative, which is already operational and integrates energy generation from renewable sources, battery storage, green hydrogen production and storage, and ultra-fast chargers.

Specifically, the installation at El Cisne includes photovoltaic production from 220 solar panels totalling 60.5 kilowatt peak (kWp) mounted on the service station canopy, a battery with a nominal capacity of 500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and a maximum power output of 300 kilowatts (kW), a green hydrogen fuel cell, two storage racks holding 13.5 kg of hydrogen at 200 bars, and two ultra-fast 150 kW chargers.

It is precisely this combination of equipment that makes ECOASIS unique, offering a self-sufficient and environmentally friendly alternative to current service stations and providing a new option that could be decisive in consolidating electric vehicle charging infrastructure in locations far from traditional power grids.

The combination of renewable energy production with the role of the hydrogen fuel cell, which can generate additional electricity when renewable production is low or the battery storage is depleted, and the option to connect to a hydrogen refuelling station to store the green hydrogen produced and supply it to vehicles using this energy is another clear advantage. The system would also be very useful in situations of power supply failures due to faults or unexpected events.

Attending the ECOASIS presentation were Yolanda Vallés, Director General for Energy and Mines of the Government of Aragon (Spain); Tatiana Gaudes, Councillor for Environment and Mobility of Zaragoza City Council (Spain); Ramón Comellas, President of Circutor; Zoilo Ríos, CEO of the Zoilo Ríos Group; Andrés Llombart, CEO of CIRCE; Pilar Soto, President of the Association of Service Stations of Aragon (AESAR); and Pedro Machín, President of the Aragon Energy Cluster (CLENAR).

ECOASIS is part of the incentive programme for flagship electric mobility projects (MOVES Singular Projects II Programme) under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
