New RS-485 to Wi-Fi/Ethernet converter for environments with 12/24 V DC power

Circutor | 15 de July de 2024

The proper integration of reading, actuation or control equipment in an industrial setting is essential to optimize the operation and ensure service continuity. It is possible for devices in the same installation to communicate using different languages, complicating their control. The new TCPRS1+ PSDC gateway from Circutor converts Modbus TCP/IP data to Modbus RTU (RS-485), simplifying communication and reducing the costs associated with new installations.

Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU, now in DC environments

The TCPRS1+ PSDC gateway is designed to convert the data supplied by Modbus RTU devices to TCP/IP, making them easier to integrate into Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks. RS-485 is a widely used communications standard in industrial and automation environments due to its ability to transmit data over long distances and its resistance to electrical noise. The features of the new Circutor gateway include:

  • 10-36V DC Power supply
  • RS-485 to Ethernet/Wi-Fi conversion
  • Generates its own Wi-Fi network for configuration
  • Use of two different interfaces: Wi-Fi network and Ethernet network
  • Wireless configuration via the MyConfig app

Applications and usage environment

The TCPRS1+ PSDC is designed for industrial environments where different reading, actuation or control devices are used that need to report data to a higher-level software or database. It is ideal for:

Instalaciones fotovoltaicas

Photovoltaic
installations

The advantages of TCP communication in environments where the devices, both solar panels and strings monitoring elements, are supplied 12V and 24V.

Sistemas de regulación y control

Automation and control systems

Industrial automation environments, where devices like PLCs and variable-frequency drives must interact with probes and sensors, all of them fed 12V or 24V.

Cuadros eléctricos en los que solo tengamos alimentación DC

Electrical panels that only have DC power

When opting for the TCPRS1+ PSDC solution, all the devices are guaranteed to be powered from a single source, thus protecting them from voltage spikes and ensuring continuous and reliable operation.

Usability and connectivity

The user can configure the TCPRS1+ PSDC through a website that uses the same format and information as the TCPRS1+ model. The web interface can be used to easily configure and update all the connectivity parameters. Access is protected with a username and password.

In addition to the web server, the gateway can be configured using the free Circutor MyConfig application, which makes it easy to put into service and manage.
