Therefore,&nbsp;these companies have the option to&nbsp;install their own Energy Management&nbsp;System (EMS) as an alternative&nbsp;to performing an external audit.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, some standards, such&nbsp;as ISO 50001, also applicable to&nbsp;SMEs, already recommend these&nbsp;types of systems with the purpose of&nbsp;measuring and quantifying the&nbsp;consumption of energy per zone and&nbsp;type of use, which are useful for the&nbsp;continuous improvement of different&nbsp;energy processes and systems.<\/p>\n<p>When addressing how the system&nbsp;must be installed, the features of&nbsp;electrical installations are not always&nbsp;constant, i.e., many different&nbsp;single-phase channels often exist in&nbsp;switchboards.
